Scripture: Genesis 6-7

If you want to be a great servant, it isn’t a one and done sort of thing. Faithfulness is a key attribute of any of God’s Servants. Community Service projects are great, but committed servants are just getting started when most everyone else is punching their time card and going home. The Bible says that Noah faithfully walked with God in a time when the rest of the world could care less. He didn’t just do what was right, he built an ark under God’s direction day after day, year after year even if nobody else paid attention. Can we serve faithfully like Noah?

Week 1 | Heart of a Servant: Created to Serve the Lord | Randy Shivers
Monday Apr 28, 2025
Monday Apr 28, 2025
Speaker: Randy Shivers
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8

All over Scripture, we are told to ‘serve the Lord.’ In Psalm 100:2, it says to ‘serve the Lord with gladness.’ Deuteronomy 10:12 says, ‘Serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.’ Joshua says, ‘As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord’ (Joshua 24:15). And Paul in Romans 12:11 also tells us to ‘serve the Lord.’ In Mark 10:45, Jesus says, ‘The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve.’ Christians throw around the phrase ‘serve the Lord’ but what does that phrase mean and why is it important as a follower of Christ? We don’t get right with God because we serve, we serve because Jesus saved us and made us right with God.

Week 5 Easter | Jesus: Swallowed Up In Victory | Matt Robinson
Tuesday Apr 22, 2025
Tuesday Apr 22, 2025
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: John 21//Luke 24
•
It’s true that Jesus’ disciples were not expecting him to die or even to die on a cross. It is especially true that they weren’t expecting him to come back to life. Everyone who had fought with death had lost. All of humanity ended up swallowed in the grave, never to return. Jesus broke the jaws of death and emerged victorious. His triumph over death brought us a victory over sin and death as well.

Week 4 |Jesus: The Sign of Jonah | Matt Robinson
Monday Apr 14, 2025
Monday Apr 14, 2025
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Luke 11:28-32
•
One of the reasons that Jonah didn’t want to go share God’s message with the Ninevites was because he didn’t like them. They were sinful, they were scary, and the list could go on. God still had a message for them. God still wanted them to obey him. It’s interesting that in Jesus’ ministry he actually references the story of Jonah and the Ninevites. He tells a crowd that is showing up looking for miracles that the only sign they’ll get is the sign of Jonah. He goes even further and tells them that the Ninevites will stand up at Judgement and condemn this generation. What is he saying? He’s challenging them to not miss God’s message and call on their lives. Don’t wait for a sign. Respond to Jesus’ words in your life right away.

Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Matthew 14:22-36

Yet again the disciples find themselves out on the open sea. Deep into the night they think they see a ghost walking towards them on the water, but its actually Jesus. He tells them to have courage even though what they are witnessing defies anything they believe to be possible. We can believe Jesus at his word, follow him at his command, and trust that he knows what he is talking about.

Week 2 |Jesus: Asleep In the Storm | Matt Robinson
Monday Mar 31, 2025
Monday Mar 31, 2025
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Luke 8:22-25
•
Jesus didn’t select most of his disciples from the shores of the sea of Galilee. They also did a lot of their ministry around it and spend significant time on it. While traveling across the sea a storm threatened to wreck their small boat. As the disciples despaired, Jesus woke up and calmed the storm. Even in the trouble of the storm, the disciples were safe with Jesus in the boat. Recognizing you are safe in the midst of a struggle when God is with you isn’t easy at all. Once we do though we also begin to see his power.

Week 1 |Jesus: Fisher of Men | Randy Adams
Monday Mar 24, 2025
Monday Mar 24, 2025
Speaker: Randy Adams
Scripture: Matthew 4:18-22
•
The story of Jonah revolves around God’s chosen prophet, Jonah, not wanting to go to the people he was sent to. It led to him being swallowed by the fish. The life and story of Jesus on earth was almost the complete opposite. In Matthew 4 one of Jesus’ first recorded conversations was telling his disciples that he would teach them to be fishers of men. Where Jonah chose to run away, Jesus chose to run towards. He pursued what he cared about the most.

Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Jonah 4

Life is too short to get upset over the little things. There is so much that it simply isn’t worth getting worked up about. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything worth getting worked up about. Have you ever stopped to consider what God cares about the most? What concerns him the most? At the conclusion of the book of Jonah, God challenges Jonah, about what he has allowed to get himself bent out of shape over, and what should be concerning him even more.
