Topic: What Are You Waiting For?
Scripture: Luke 2:25-38
•
Christmas Eve is a day of anticipation and longing, but what are we all waiting for? Most children are eager for the arrival of gifts under the tree on Christmas morning, while adults may long to be with family or to be with those that are no longer with us. What are you waiting for? Before Jesus’ birth, the world longed for a Savior and unexpectedly, He was delivered. And little has changed because our souls still yearn for something more. They long for our Savior – Jesus.

Week 3 | Delivered | Matt Robinson

Topic: Results Not Typical
Scripture: Isaiah 9:6-7

Next day delivery has changed how most of us function. We click the BUY NOW button and expect to be able to almost simultaneously hear the package hit our front porch. None of us have much patience to wait for anything. If it doesn’t get delivered over the course of a couple days, we think something is seriously wrong.
When Jesus was born, he surprised almost everyone, because Israel had been waiting for so incredibly long, that most people had stopped waiting altogether. He showed up and instantly started fulfilling prophecies from hundreds of years earlier. Still some people wanted to call customer service because he wasn’t what they expected. Other’s saw what the rest were missing. He was exactly what the prophets had told them to be waiting for. He was exactly what we all needed.

Week 3 | Peace of Mind | Matt Robinson
Monday Nov 28, 2022
Monday Nov 28, 2022
Topic: VIDEO MESSAGE "Tree Planted by the Waters"
Scriptures: Jeremiah 17:5-9

Peace of Mind sounds incredible. The tranquility of a quiet stream on loop in your brain. That peace feels like the golden ring on life’s carousel; always just out of reach. There is the average day to day struggles of life, but so many of us also combat mental illness in our lives, and the lives of those we care about. It leaves us feeling isolated, inadequate, and broken. Life doesn’t feel like a peaceful river; it feels like we are drowning in a flood.
Jesus calls all who are weary to follow him. He promises us rest. He doesn’t tell us to pray harder to find mental peace or health, just like he doesn’t tell us to pray harder that our broken arm would heal itself. When Jesus rescued us, he placed us in a spiritual family. All of us are going to experience sickness both physically and mentally. God promises he is with us in those struggles, and he has also blessed us with our faith community, and professional resources to navigate those challenges. Don’t struggle alone, and don’t believe the lie, that if you only tried harder or had more faith, then you’d find peace of mind.
