Week 2 |Jesus: Asleep In the Storm | Matt Robinson
Monday Mar 31, 2025
Monday Mar 31, 2025
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Luke 8:22-25
•
Jesus didn’t select most of his disciples from the shores of the sea of Galilee. They also did a lot of their ministry around it and spend significant time on it. While traveling across the sea a storm threatened to wreck their small boat. As the disciples despaired, Jesus woke up and calmed the storm. Even in the trouble of the storm, the disciples were safe with Jesus in the boat. Recognizing you are safe in the midst of a struggle when God is with you isn’t easy at all. Once we do though we also begin to see his power.

Week 1 |Jesus: Fisher of Men | Randy Adams
Monday Mar 24, 2025
Monday Mar 24, 2025
Speaker: Randy Adams
Scripture: Matthew 4:18-22
•
The story of Jonah revolves around God’s chosen prophet, Jonah, not wanting to go to the people he was sent to. It led to him being swallowed by the fish. The life and story of Jesus on earth was almost the complete opposite. In Matthew 4 one of Jesus’ first recorded conversations was telling his disciples that he would teach them to be fishers of men. Where Jonah chose to run away, Jesus chose to run towards. He pursued what he cared about the most.

Monday Mar 17, 2025
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Jonah 4
•
Life is too short to get upset over the little things. There is so much that it simply isn’t worth getting worked up about. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything worth getting worked up about. Have you ever stopped to consider what God cares about the most? What concerns him the most? At the conclusion of the book of Jonah, God challenges Jonah, about what he has allowed to get himself bent out of shape over, and what should be concerning him even more.

Week 6 | Jonah: Righteous Anger, Sacred God | Matt Robinson
Monday Mar 10, 2025
Monday Mar 10, 2025
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Jonah 4

Criticism comes more naturally clemency. Judging others is far more comfortable than forgiveness. When we call prey to this tendency we develop spiritual short sightedness. We fail to see the world as God sees it and in turn also suffer from a diseased heart. The build-up of negative and judgemental feelings in our heart, creates a blockage that prevents us from letting God’s grace flow through us. We should rejoice when anyone turns to God. We are messengers of hope.

Week 5 | Jonah: The Gift of Repentance | Randy Shivers
Monday Mar 03, 2025
Monday Mar 03, 2025
Speaker: Randy Shivers
Scripture: Jonah 3
•
Repentance has a bad reputation, partly because of self-righteous people smacking others over the head with it, and partly because it's just an uncomfortable thing to do. No one likes to be told they are wrong, and no one likes to admit they are wrong. Still, repentance isn’t just a good thing. It’s a gift from God. It isn’t easy to recognize that repenting can make us healthier, happier, and stronger, but when we do it will do us a world of good.

Monday Feb 24, 2025
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Jonah 1-2
•
The heart of God is moved by repentance and he gives us second chances. At the start of Jonah 3 he gives Jonah and the Ninevites second chances. Jonah walks through the city announcing difficult news to hear. The city has strayed from God’s plan for their lives and they are missing the mark in dangerous ways. Jonah’s second chance gives the Ninevites a second chance too. Where is God giving you a second or even a third chance today?

Week 3 | Jonah: God’s Rescue Story | Matt Robinson
Monday Feb 17, 2025
Monday Feb 17, 2025
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Jonah 1-2
•
Even in the depths of the ocean Jonah knew that God had provided for him and rescued him from himself and his troubles. Not many of us would consider being swallowed up by a fish as God’s provision in our lives, but Jonah recognized it for what it was. In the ancient world the sea was a symbol for death. Even trapped in the depths of ‘death’ Jonah knew that God could hear his prayer and his salvation could only come from God. I hope none of us ever get swallowed by a fish, but I do hope all of us know that God’s rescue story for mankind is the best news ever.

Week 2 | Jonah: Hide and Seek With God | Matt Robinson
Monday Feb 10, 2025
Monday Feb 10, 2025
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Jonah 1
•
Jonah didn’t get very far in his attempt to run away from God’s plans for him. There isn’t a place where any of us can go that God cannot find us. That might sound a little intimidating, and it was probably terrifying in the moment for Jonah, but its actually the best news ever. None of us is ever lost by God even when we are trying to hide. He isn’t hunting us down either, he is pursuing us because he loves us, and ultimately he wants the best for us and the people he has sent us to as well.
