Week 2 | All In: Grow | Randy Adams

Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:8-16

Connecting to God is only the beginning. Christianity is a relationship and not a religion. Relationships take effort, time, investment, and discipline. God doesn’t want us to know about Him, He wants us to KNOW Him. Healthy relationships are growing relationships. And for that to happen we must spend time with God through His Word and prayer daily. We need to use the resources God has given us, like the Bible, the Church, prayer, and the Holy Spirit.

Scripture: Romans 3:23

There’s some really good news that we have to tell you, but before we tell you the really good news, there’s some bad news that there is just no avoiding. We are all in a more perilous situation whether we realize it or not. We’ve missed the mark in life and its created a dividing chasm between us and God. Most of the time we drift through each day unaware of the dire predicament we are in. In the back of our mind, in every single heartbeat, and deep within our gut there is an aching longing to be made whole. To be reunited with God and restored. That’s where the good news of grace comes in. Through the cross, Jesus has made it possible for us to be ALL IN on grace. Because Jesus went ALL IN for us he can bridge the separating gap and reunite us with God.

The angels announced Jesus’ arrival to shepherds. A star announced the same arrival to wisemen who were far off. They all followed the announcement by taking the journey to the manger. It led the shepherds to rejoice, and the wisemen broke out in worship. The same journey is before each of us. If we follow in their steps it will lead us to rejoice and worship as well.

Scripture: Hebrews 2:17

Two millennia ago the hope of all mankind arrived in the most unexpected way in a little town just a few miles outside of Jerusalem. In Bethlehem, in a manger meant for feeding livestock a mother placed her newborn child. This little one would go on to heal the sick, walk on water, and even bring the dead back to life. This child would go on to give his life for all of us. His arrival to earth takes us on a journey. A journey to the town of Bethlehem to once again look upon the face that would redeem us all. A journey to the manger that would lead us to the cross.

Week 4 | Jesus' Journey To The Manger | Matt Robinson
Wednesday Dec 25, 2024
Wednesday Dec 25, 2024
Speaker: Matt Robinson
Scripture: Hebrews 2:17-18
•
Two thousand years ago, the God of the universe decided to put on skin and become a human, born in a manger in the town of Bethlehem. He decided to go on that journey and descend to earth long before that. All the way back to the creation of the world he knew that man would need to be rescued, and he decided to do the heavy lifting himself. From the pages of Genesis, all the way up to the straw-filled manger you can see his footsteps to earth. Whether it is foreshadowed in the lives of the leaders in Israel's history, or in the words of their prophets, it was clear that Jesus was coming to rescue us all.
God calls us to use what we have to protect and care for those around us.

Scripture: Luke 2: 1-7, Matthew 1:18-25

After it was decreed that a census would be taken, Joseph had to make an unexpected journey with his new wife who was about to give birth. That wasn’t the only unexpected journey he was going on though. If things had gone according to his plans, he would have divorced her quietly and moved on with his life. She had wound up pregnant before they had gotten married, and he wasn’t the father. God had other plans though. There was something much bigger going on and God wanted Joseph watch over and care for Mary in the midst of this turbulent journey.
God calls us to use what we have to protect and care for those around us.

Week 2 | Mary's Journey To The Manger | Matt Robinson
Monday Dec 09, 2024
Monday Dec 09, 2024

Scripture: Luke 1:26-56

The best estimates say that Mary was somewhere between 15 and 16 years old when she gave birth to Jesus. Roll back the clock just a little more than 9 months before that. Think about that season in Mary’s life. She was going to be married. Her life was arranged neatly out ahead of her. There would have been excitement for the wedding just around the corner, the hope for a family down the road after that. Then an angel comes to her and tells her of a much different journey that is in store for her. An exceptionally special one for sure, but one that erases much of the future she thought she had ahead. As Mary began her journey to the manger, she was also coming to grips with the loss of the life she thought was about to arrive.

Week 1 | Our Journey To The Manger | Matt Robinson

Scripture: Romans 3:23-24

What brings us back to the manger year after year? Each of us might celebrate our own birthday each year, but no other birthday brings so many people together every revolution around the Sun. Time after time we go on a journey that leads us back to a manger, with a little Israeli boy in it that would go on to change the course of history. We come to the manger, because we need it. More than most of us even realize. We need the grace, redemption, and adoption into God’s family that it holds. We need the savior that was born in that manger.
